Communicating Emotion As An Artist

Here is the present project I am working on. I am practicing "Self-Compassion" here, always having a sense of humor in all I do.

Let's be real! There is talent, that is true, but there is also a skill, and that is learned. Talent cannot be expressed without that learned skill.

I write this and I take you behind the scenes while creating this Masterpiece.  As an artist, there is a behind the scenes story. This is the "stuff" that makes the stories and journey real.

For example, this painting of Tessie and Ryan has had me diving back into portrait basics, practicing my "portrait skills." I have the painting almost completed except the "likeness" of Ryan. Challenging, but never impossible.

Practice, practice and more practice. So with Tessie and Ryan, I am making the grunge work (the process), real for all to see...

Ultimately, what is most important is the EMOTION that will be communicated to all who view it. That is my message I intend to convey.

How does it make you feel?   Tell me what you think?

1 Response to Communicating Emotion As An Artist

Michelle, I think you captured so much emotion, so much love and a special bond between a person and their pet. For anyone who has ever loved an animal, it will stir those emotions. Wonderful job.
